Too Fast, Too Young?

Thankful
Today I am thankful that we have a roof over our heads. There are so many people out there that don’t have a place to come home to and sometimes I get on my high horse about things that are not important but in all actually I am very lucky. Not only do we have a very nice house, we also own our house and in this economy many people will never get to experience what that is like. In hand with being thankful for my house, I am thankful for the hardworking man that helps makes that possible. R continuously works hard at his job and is the type of man that constantly makes you proud to be his other half. I’m thankful for this life we have made together.

Completely unrelated… I wanted to take a moment to get some thoughts and opinions on something we were discussing this morning at work. Recently I came across an article about two very young girls that compete in endurance runs. The girls are 10 and 12 years old which brings up some concerns about running such long distances when your body is not fully grown and/or developed. Some people at work argued that you should let your kids do what they want to do and it helps them stay in shape. Others think it’s wrong because they believe it could affect the growth of the child. I’m not a parent nor am I a child developemental expert, but I think that those runs may be a bit too much for the small girls. I believe running is very hard on your body and I believe as an adult you typically know when to listen to your body and what it needs. So if you are sore or something is wrong we typically know and slow ourselves down. I would fear that children may not know their bodies as well and something serious could affect them for the rest of their lives if not handled correctly. Please note I’m not talking about just a 5K or fun run. I believe children should be included in those and taught to take care of themselves but I’m not sure I agree with the much longer runs. What do you parents think? I’m very open minded and like to know what you would do if your child wanted to run?
Happy Thursday!!!

Seriously Thank Good~ness

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching I thought I would do a daily post about what I am thankful for this year...
This morning, I am thankful that the election is over. I’m sorry if I offend anyone but I am soooo tired of hearing all of the whom you should vote for, do your homework, horrible things about the opposing candidates and all of the other cap that comes with it. Granted, I think if you feel strongly about the person you want to run your county I do believe you should vote. Hey even tell your friends who you voted for if you want. But don’t go around screaming it like a crazy person and posting on FB about it every 5 minutes. This does nothing more than make other people think you look ridiculous smart.  I am so thankful that I live in a county that has freedom of speech and that everyone has the right to vote but I wish more people would respect the fact that not everyone has the same beliefs.  Okay, enough of all of that because I’m sure you’re all tired of my rant for the day…

I also want to note that I’m thankful for a very small treasure, red cup season. For those of you from the Pacific Northwest I don’t need to explain. However for the rest of the world, little red cup season starts the first week of November and ends after New Year’s.  It’s the official beginning of the holiday season because Starbucks switches to red cups and makes all of the high calorie packed delicious drinks for the holiday season, which includes my all-time favorite, the gingerbread latte... If you haven’t had one I insist you try it, it’s a little slice of heaven in a cup. You can thank me later! (and I know third world problems that I’m thankful for a Starbucks drink) But it was needed this morning! Hope you all have a great day!

Random I Know...

I know this is weird because I don't know them. But Im so excited that Kristen Bell is Prego! I love her and if you havent seen the Sloth Video I suggest you leave and go watch it right now.

Silently Stalking

Hi Ya'll I'm totally stealing Holly's thunder today. She had written about leaving other bloggers comments today and it had got me thinking and typing! I have silently stalking reading some really good blogs lately! Be sure to check out the blogs I follow on the bottom right of my page(and comment and let me know of other good blogs you follow!) Also, be sure to comment on peoples blogs. Blogging is such a hard thing to remember to constantly keep up on when things get busy and sometimes just knowing that someone else is reading the mumbo-jumbo that you put out in the world just feels good! So spread the love and comment on someone’s blog!

In other news… I went for a run last night and almost died. Ugh! It was a rough one I’m not sure why but I just couldn’t get out of my own head. I couldn’t just get in the grove I was complaining about how it was cold, I was having a hard time breathing and now my legs where cramping. I feel horrible about it. I am very competitive and hold myself to high standards so I get really disappointed when I don’t do my best. So tonight I’ve gotta make my run my bitch. Wish me luck!

Bad case of the Mondays

Need a weekend from my weekend...
Wow, I had such a great weekend. I hope you all did as well! Mine started off Friday evening with the soon to be hubs taking me out for date night. He is such a stud! He took me to dinner at the place we first met then he took me to a movie I had wanted to see (at the same theater we had gone to the first night we met.) Isn’t that adorable?! He was trying to get laid

Then Saturday I woke up early went for a 3.5 mile walk with my friend Megan followed by a 2 mile run and then lastly a 3.5 walk with R. So I got some serious mileage in. After going home and showering we went out Saturday night with some friends and family for my sister in laws birthday! It was so fun but I definitely had way too much to drink. I never really drink anymore and after losing as much weight as I have this year I definitely don’t know my limits.  So I woke up Sunday morning with a hangover from Hell. Only to hurry and get ready to go to the Seahawks game where we killed the Vikings!!
Fast forward to now... Monday morning at work and in need of a serious weekend to my weekend... It’s going to be a long week! I also only have 11 days until my first 5K so I need to get some serious running in this week! Hope you guys have a great Monday!!

Hello November...

Happy November Ya’ll!! (Extra shout-out since its Friday!! I don’t know about you but this weekend is much needed.) It’s hard to believe it’s only 14 days until my first 5K, only 52 days til xmas, and 196 days until Our Big Day!!
(They don't look like us, but I'm too cheap to pay for it! I got a wedding to save for)
Last night, I wore my new jacket for a run and I have to say I LOVE it!! I finally got a picture of it for all of ya!
BTW I feel the need to clarify this is my work bathroom! LOL I leave to go running right from work

I also want to take a moment to say I love Washington!! I know sometimes the rain gets a little depressing (it doesn’t rain half as much as people think) but when you have a fall that looks like this, I remember why I love this place so much!

Any--whoo not much else new here today except I have date night with R tonight! So sweet to get a random text in the middle of the work day saying...

R - “you running tonight?”

Me – “Yup”

R – “We got a date night after that then ok”

Love it! Should be a great night. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

TGIT??

Good Morning!! Its weigh-in Thursday! And surprisingly even with my candy intake last night...
 I'm still down 1lb. I'll take it!!

After Weigh-In :)

Last night after work I ran to JcPennys to look for a running jacket that would allow me to move while still keeping me dry and success!! For only $30.00 I found the cutest one. I looked on the website and its not on there so I will have to remember to take pictures tonight! I also want to know that I tryed on jeans and I'm offically a size 8 (and a 10 still in 2 of the 6 pairs I tried on)

From 18 to size 8!!

After shopping I ran and picked up a little extra candy for the hubs kids just in case! However we only got 7 trick or treaters and two of which I make special good bags for anyways. So R and I just watched a scary movie and called it a night. Hope everyone else had a great and safe Halloween!!

P.s Only 17 days to my first 5K.. Ekk!!

P.s.s Today is the day we find out who our blogger swag swap person is!! Whoo hoo!!
